The world can feel like it is spinning, and that we are out of control along with it. How to reduce overwhelm, panic and anxiety.

When I decided to start my new business, Energize and Rise LLC, I quickly became overwhelmed at everything that was involved:
“I have to do what?
I have to do it when?
I have to talk to attorneys, bankers, and tax accountants???
What licenses do I have to get?
What forms do I have to complete?
What???"
Not being a business kind of person and with no business experience, my brain went into shock. Fortunately, it wasn’t for too long, as you are now reading this blog! By the way, nothing personal, but attorneys, bankers and tax accountants all make me nervous. When my business succeeds enough to have a personal attorney, banker, and tax accountant, I am sure I will make them nervous too.
I quickly settled myself down and told myself I would just take one step at a time. At that point, things calmed down and I took it slowly, with many lists, and accomplished one task at a time, checking them off as I went, so I could see that I accomplished something each day. Before I knew it, all the above had been accomplished. And thank you to all the above people who were very lovely to talk to, despite sounding very confused about my business! It certainly affected my beginning confidence to hear, "What is your business doing?" after I had already explained it. A lawyer I talked to sounded a little confused, but after a lengthy conversation, he admitted my services are needed. It was a definite win to hear that from a very logical, fact oriented, person!
When I work with clients, I often get visions (I am spiritual) of the client spinning as if on a wobble toy, turning around and around, and they confirm that is how they are feeling. This crazy world can sometimes be overwhelming! The world can feel like it is spinning, and that we are out of control along with it. When things feel really crazy, we can even shut down from the panic and anxiety. When this happens, there is something so easy we can do to calm our world, slow it down, and stop the spinning.
Sit quietly and close your eyes.
Take a deep breath in, filling your belly fully, hold it for a few seconds, then slowly and fully exhale.
While you are breathing, focus on your heart.
Breathe in light, love and peace.
Picture the chaos, negative thoughts and emotions (use your imagination with how you picture it), leaving your body along with the breath that you exhale, sending the chaotic feelings and negative thoughts/emotions out to the earth to be transmuted into love.
Breathe in light, love and peace. Exhale chaos, negative thoughts and emotions.
Do this 3 times, or as many times as you like, until you feel calm.
This can be done anytime and anywhere that you feel safe to close your eyes and center for a few moments (there is a free meditation on my website for breathing and centering).
So simple, but so easy: just breathe and center on your heart.
The chaos will subside. It always does. The negative feelings will change into positive ones. Your emotions will calm. You are powerful when you choose to be, and yes it is a choice.
